Ron Whalin

Acting President

A graduate of West Phoenix High School, Ron received his BS in Mechanical Engineering at New Mexico State University in 1959. He joined Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ and earned Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering at Rutgers and Engineering Mechanics at NYU.

Working 37 years for the “Bell System”, he was employed by Bell Labs, NJ Bell, Western Electric, AT&T, AT&T-Microelectronics, and finally Lucent Technologies. He managed various areas of engineering, manufacturing, sales and information systems technology. When he retired in 1996, he was working in Information Systems Architecture for Lucent Technologies.

Since retiring, Ron has done volunteer work for Kiwanis, the Chatham United Methodist Church, ECLC of NJ, the Chatham Library, Chatham Chamber of Commerce, and local Chatham government organizations.

Ron and his wife Bert lived for 34 years in Chatham Township, NJ. They moved to Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge, NJ in 2012.

Ron’s hobbies are photography, computers and travel. He enjoys working with computers and maintaining websites. In addition to being a past president of the Residents Association, he serves on the Fellowship Village Communications Committee and helps residents with their Mac and Windows issues.
